Sweater Weather with Faux Leather Leggings

Fashion, Lifestyle, Style
sweater and leggings

I’m just so thrilled finally we are having a sort of a sweater weather! There are so many great fall trends and I just can’t wait to wear them! So, one of these is off the shoulder sweaters you can see almost on every blogger. This trend has actually existed since last year and I am loving the fact that wearing a sweater does not make you feel chunky and unattractive but pretty sexy!

Polka dot Romper with Red Accessories

Fashion, Style
polka dot romper

You know polka dot reminds me of Marilyn Monroe, black and white movies and red lips? That’s why I feel so glamorous when I’m in polka dots! Polka dot is also one of the trends of this year just like velvet I talked about in this post.

This polka dot romper is so cute and comfortable that it can be worn day or night. Long sleeves actually make it appropriate for fall. The tie-front detail and the ruffle trim adds movement into the romper. It would also look very chic with sock booties, another trend of this season or white sneakers if you would like to dress it down.

Velvet Bodysuit and Kimono

Happy October friends!

As we gradually start prepping for the fall weather- although it seems like it will never come- I would like to talk about some of the fall trends that you can easily add to your outfits: velvet bodysuit and kimono

I was already using kimono as a summer staple  as something to throw on me on cooler nights, but I discovered it might actually be a great addition to your fall wardrobe. For starters, it can be paired with so many things like jeans, dresses, and skirts. And you both look trendy and stay warm!

Adding Fun to Work Outfits

Fashion, Style
striped shirt and midi skirt

When Monday morning comes and I get out of bed, other than wishing I was inside the bed, I also wish that I had more fun clothes to wear to work. It seems as if all the pieces in my wardrobe are just so boring! So I thought I’d give some ideas for adding some fun to spice things up at the office because girl, I know how that would make you more motivated about work!

Striped shirts are always my go to look for work, or for anywhere really (I just love them and they look stylish and casual with whatever!). So, when I saw this red striped shirt, I thought what a great staple to add to my wardrobe! Apart from being striped, it is actually off the shoulder, which is what I absolutely love about it. Off the shoulder detail makes it sassy but being a shirt, it retains some of the seriousness somehow.

Mini skirts and Cozy Knits for Fall

Fashion, Style
sweater and mini skirt

Fall is definitely my favorite season, well after summer yes! But, really I love Fall vibes with all the gorgeous foliage colors, the pumpkin season, cozy sweaters and boots.. So, in an attempt to create one of my favorite looks for this fall, I finally wore my over the knee boots for the first time in a year. I really love these, but you cannot wear them with everything, but this fall/winter, mini skirts with over-the-knee boots are very trendy. So take out your OTK boots, ladies!

This mini skirt carries both of this season’s trends: stripes and the color pistachio (which is one of Pantone’s fall colors). I love the fact that stripes and that bow detail in the front adds a more casual quality to the skirt. You can actually wear it with tees and sneakers as well.

One Shoulder Shirt+Ripped Jeans

shirt and jeans

Hello friends!

Although the weather in California makes it a little hard to get into the fall mood, we are slowly feeling that the season of sweaters, layers, and pumpkin spice latte is coming! Before ordering more cozy sweaters (’cause I will be doing that), I decided to transition into my favorite season with the all-time-trendy off shoulder or one shoulder shirts.

If you were watching the New York Fashion Week like a crazy person like me, you have probably seen that shirts that are one shoulder, off the shoulder or cold shoulder are everywhere. They go with almost everything from skirts to wide-legged pants and jeans.

I myself love this particular one because of its wrap style and the dramatic sleeves. It feels very unique because of these two qualities. It also has only one collar, which makes it a very fun and trendy top.

Pleated Metallic Midi Skirt

Fashion, Style
black camisole and pleated skirt

Hello again after a long while!

Sorry for being MIA for the past month, but I had a wedding to plan and attend! Thankfully, it was a magical wedding,  everything went so smoothly and we had a lot of fun. I am also planning to do a post featuring my wedding pictures as soon as the professional ones are out.

It feels so good to be back both in California and back at blogging! I am already getting all the fall vibes even though it is still summer in California. I have been seeing pleated midi skirts everywhere and I thought I’d hop on that band wagon too!

This pleated skirt is a great addition to the fall wardrobe. I love the fit and shape of it. It also has metallic undertones, which is another fall trend. What I like about it is that it can be worn in a few different ways. It looks casual chic with a tee and sneakers or a sweater and boots. I chose to dress it up with a simple black camisole and strappy heels.

I’m a big fan of leather jackets and I’m so lucky to live in California because all you need is leather jackets and cardigans for fall and winter! Complementing the look with a black leather jacket makes the outfit more casual and fall-ready!

Hope you enjoy reading

Olive OTS Top and Cutoff Denim Shorts

Fashion, Style

As the preparations for our wedding continue, we make day trips to Izmir, which is the city we will have the wedding in, for things like meeting our organizer and making the arrangements with the hotel . That’s why I have to adjust myself to city life once in a while. Other times I spend my days wearing beach dresses or swimsuits!

I wore this combo for an afternoon in Izmir, a beautiful city on the Aegean coast of Turkey. I purchased this light olive off the shoulder top in Turkey, but I found several similar styles online (so I am linking them here). You know that I am obsessed with the olive color by now! Besides the color, I love the fact that it has long sleeves. It will be perfect for California to wear at night when it cools down.

Olive goes perfectly with white, that’s why I combined this OTS top with white denim shorts. I think everybody must have a pair of white denim shorts! They are an essential staple of your closet and go well with every color you can think of! I’m linking several styles below.

Also, I’m still in love with these suede sandals, which are finally on SALE!

Hope you are savoring every last bit of summer!

Thanks for reading,

gulin

Olive Ruffle Dress

Fashion, Style
Olive Ruffle Dress

Being on vacay in one of the coastal towns in Turkey is probably one of the best things that could happen to you right now but I don’t deny the fact that it makes me miss city life! So I have prepared this post about this city look with one of my favorite dresses!

We are gradually drawing towards the end of Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and you might be already tired of seeing it everywhere! I know I am!

Let me tell you that this dress is not on sale but I think it is one of the best dupes for the Self-Portrait dress you’ve been seeing on some bloggers. The model is exactly the same and the color is olive, which is one of my favorite colors for this summer. It’s also reasonably priced for its original model and durable material.

I am in love with the ruffles on the shoulders and the elegant one shoulder! The button detail in the front also adds a casual quality to the dress. The length of the skirt is perfect for both city and vacay.

I styled it with block heels for a casual chic look but you can dress it down with flat sandals or sliders as well for a more casual look.

Thanks for reading!

Love from Turkey,

CCR’s Travel Guide to Capri

Fashion, Places, Style, Travel
Capri travel guide

I apologize for taking too long to write this post, but our wi-fi connection literally makes it impossible to publish any kind of post on my blog. I finally put together a Capri travel guide for you. It is a gorgeous island in the southwest of Italy, which can only be accessed from Naples.

Therefore, we flew to Naples first and stayed there for a night. I don’t personally recommend you to stay in Naples both because there is not much to see and it is not a very organized or clean city. What’s more taxis do not know or follow any of the rules and drive like crazy putting your life into danger. So, if you want to go to Capri, I recommend you to directly go to Capri when you land in Naples without spending any time.

The ferry ride to Capri takes approximately 45 minutes. When you step on the island, the first thing you notice is the beautiful houses on the hill. Then you take the cable car,  “funicolare” in Italian to go up to reach the center of the island. Although the views you see from the cable car continue to fascinate you, the biggest surprise awaits you at the top: a magnificent view of the island!

Our hotel was more uphill, so we had a longer way to climb up from the center of the island, but when we reached there the view of the hotel made it worth all the climbing. The cute narrow streets where there is no other vehicle other than golf carts, beautiful architecture, the bougainvilleas everywhere are just a few of the things I can use to describe this gorgeous island!

Our pretty hotel, La Reginella, was owned by a friendly couple that prepare the most lavish breakfast you could ever see in Capri! Alex, a Dutch man, baked all homemade delicious pastries for breakfast including quiches, muffins and even Tiramisu!

Capri travel guide Capri travel guide Capri travel guide

These pictures are all from the hotel, which provided the perfect setting for our shoot. In fact, all of the island is so picture-perfect that every corner makes the best background.

One of the best and hardest things to do in Capri is to go to the beach club. Hardest because there is no vehicle and you rely on your feet to go down those steps and hills until you reach the sea level and then climb back up (unless you want to take the cable car to go down and go there by boat)! But the views you will see going down the island are one of the best! That’s why I recommend going on foot if you could handle it! You will definitely get thirsty on your way back up, so don’t forget to try the lemonade at the cutest little café on the way.

There are two famous beach clubs next to each other. Last time we were in Capri three years ago, we went to La Fontelina Beach and loved the atmosphere and the food there. Though there is an entrance fee to go in there, it is totally worth the service! they provide you towels and umbrella if you need one in return for a small fee. The seafood at the restaurant is pretty amazing! I definitely recommend you to try the seafood pasta, spaghetti di mare. And of course, my favorite drink in Italy Aperol spritz!

The best time of the day for the Italians is the aperativo time when you can relax, watch the sunset and drink some Aperol spritz! You can see people getting together and all the cafes filling up at this time. It is my favorite drink in the whole world! I love the bitter sweet taste and the color of this drink! I’m glad we went back to Capri to enjoy it one more time even for a short period of time.

I am in love with everything Capri and would love to go back there! And I strongly recommend to visit this beautiful island in Italy!
